Body Discrimination

Introduction:

Body shaming has become a prevalent issue in today’s society, affecting individuals of all ages, genders and backgrounds. The harmful effect of body discrimination can lead to feelings of insecurity, low self-esteem and feeling negative about themselves. It brings to a state where people can’t even believe when someone genuinely compliments.

What kind of life it is if we keep ourself in a low state, feeling ugly all by ourself when God has made us unique in this whole wide world? Do you see anyone similar to you?

In this blog post, we will explore how body discrimination impacts individuals and why it is important to address this issue.

Impact on Mental Health:

  • Body shaming is the root of insecurity/negativity that targets individuals based on their physical appearance which includes comments about weight, height, skin colour, body or any other physical attribute.
  • It can have serious consequences on one’s mental health which develops anxiety, depression and eating disorders.
  • It causes individuals to start admire others and hate themselves.
  • The pressure an individual puts on themselves to conform to society’s beauty standard can take a toll on one’s overall well-being.

“The weak spot which they point out is your beauty spot.”

 Building Self-Confidence:

  • It is essential to promote self-love and acceptance to combat the effects of body discrimination.
  • Stay far from negativity. Do not let it destroy your inner core.
  • Surround yourself with positive and supportive individuals which can aid in building self-confidence.
  • Engage in activities that makes you feel confident and empowered which can help boost self-esteem.
  • Wherever you go stay confident and just be the way you are so that people get inspired by you.
  • No beauty can beat the ‘Confidence’. Hit with confidence and kill with uniqueness.

“You are beautiful and perfect as you are”

Conclusion:

Body discrimination is a toxic cycle that perpetuates insecurities and negative self-esteem. People are meant to judge, as they are afraid we might shine more than them. They are going to judge no matter how we look/how we are. Let’s not make fun of ourself around people, as it gives them a lead to make fun of us in return. Even if we aren’t, let’s just act like we are confident until we truly are. Let’s strive to create a body-positive environment where everyone feels comfortable by their own skin.

Finally, let’s try not to beautify ourselves the way people want us to look like. Let’s impress ourself first and celebrate our uniqueness.

Note: Do you think outer beauty is enough for an individual? Then, what about the inner beauty? If you                don’t have a beautiful heart, then outer beauty is waste of thing. Whereas if you have a beautiful                  heart, of course everything seems beautiful to you.
